Below are some examples of the most common cable connections.
There are numerous different cable types to make connections between computers and other devices. One modern type of connection is USB, other types of connections such parallel, serial and RS-232 are still widely used.

Parallel Connection ![]() The female end (on the left) plugs into your device. The male end (on the right) plugs into your parallel port on your computer / pos terminal. |
